As we welcome the Autumn chill, it’s beginning to feel a little more and more like the holiday season. Move over Summer shorts and flip flops, and everyone get ready for sweater weather. Oversized sweaters, scarves, beanies, and boots are fashion staples for the Fall season.

Let’s start from top to bottom, what will keep your noggin warm? Lumpy or slouchy beanies are perfect for the cold weather. Plus, it’s an added bonus if you’re running late to do something cute with your hair. Long sleeved thermals will allow you to stay warm and ace the heavy jackets, especially as cold as it gets in the ULV classrooms. And believe it or not, but turtle necks are making a big comeback. Now, for the over-sized sweaters, cardigans, ponchos, and jackets. The slouchier the look, the comfier they seem to be. Fitted clothing always looks nice, but just in case you might’ve put on a little holiday weight in the wakes of hibernation, you can’t go wrong. Like I said, the slouchier the look, the comfier they are. If you do opt for a more fitted sweater look, add some depth to your outfit with a nice layered scarf. There are many, many styles that can be done with a slim, thick, short, or long scarf.

Moving down a little further on the fit, what to dress your stems in? ALL HAIL THE LEGGINGS. Leggings have seemed to make their way into many of our hearts with the convenience, comfort, and simplicity of them. Leggings can dress up or down an outfit, depending on what you pair them with. Try matching them with an oversized sweater and beanie, for a fashionable, yet simple look. Dress the leggings up with a nice blouse, and layered scarf. Or simply wear the leggings with your favorite ULV hoodie and some sneakers, the perfect “be ready in ten minutes” look.

As far as the shoes, nothing says Fall like boots, boots, and more boots. Whether they’re knee boots, calf boots, or ankle boots, boots will dress up any look you’re wearing. I love wearing flat boots, that come up to my knees, with some leggings and a slouchy sweater. Another boot-look I love involve booties; the shorter boot with the little added heel. Booties, some cute skinny jeans, a double layered scarf, and a cute jacket. This is the ultimate, “oh this? I just threw it on” look.

Fall colors include anything with warm undertones, earthy and neutral tones, or a deep golden palette. These colors include deep reds and browns, forests greens and olives. Corals, dark peaches, and pumpkin-oranges. Want to add some color? Opt for the darker teals, purples, or blue. And of course, you can’t go wrong with anything neutral, anything bronze or golden, or anything grey or black.

Whatever your fashion sense is, you can’t go wrong with these simple, yet fashionable Autumn looks. Whether you’re dressing down for a girls’ night in, dressing up for an intimate get together, or dressing to impress to meet your lover’s family; these looks will increase your fashion status, and leading everyone to Fall in love with your seasonal outfits.
