It’s that time of year again! School has started, bringing a different kind of struggle to your daily schedule. Gone are the days where all you had to worry about was where to hang out with your friends or whether or not you have enough money to go out in the first place. Now you’re back in school and you already have such a big workload that you don’t even have enough time to spend with friends anymore. Oh, and you’re still broke.

Tired of school already? Here are some ways to determine how absolutely done you are with the scholar life.

  1. You show up to class wearing whatever you could throw on in five minutes

(Because there’s no use in impressing anyone if you’re only going to be in a class with them for a few hours.)

  2. You show up to class ten minutes late because you had to get coffee

(Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day and NOTHING will get in the way of you and your caffeine.)

  3. You use your laptop for everything but education

(Because it’s more important to figure out who A is rather than understand the importance of Plato’s philosophies.)

  4. You procrastinate on your homework

(Because you’re too busy avoiding all the work you have to do… then you remember that you don’t want to fail a class that you paid so much for.)

  5. You don’t go to events for free food anymore

(Because that super long line is just not worth waiting for—no matter how broke you are.)

  6. You don’t join any clubs or organizations

(Because you have no time or patience to deal with more people and go out to do more things.)

  7. You don’t reply when your friends invite you to go out with them

(Because once again you’re broke and you’d rather catch up on sleep than catch up with the friends you see everyday.)

  8. You don’t bother making new friends or meeting people in class

(Because you’ll probably never see them again after this semester.)

  9. You can’t give a straight answer when your relatives ask you how school is going

(Because it’s a struggle you just can’t explain to those who aren’t in your shoes.)

  10. You probably say the words “ugh I’m done with school” on a daily basis

(Even though you know you’re going to keep doing homework and showing up to class because you’re no weenie.)

Although it seems like it’s going to be a long semester, try to stay positive! It’s okay to sleep in once in a while (school is super tiring after all) but don’t forget the reason why you decided to pursue your education. The craziness of college will be so worth it when you finally have your dream job and you’re living the life you’ve worked so hard for.
