My role model is my mom. Always has been, and always will be.My mom is the reason I am the person I am today. She taught me what strength, confidence, bravery, and kindness is.

Freshman year of high school, I had a hard time. I was depressed, I hated myself and ultimately forgot how to live. My mom helped me out of that. Whether it was bringing me to the beach to relax, getting my favorite ice cream to make me smile, or watching a movie I love even though she might hate it. She was always there for me.

Last year, I decided to get a tattoo in honor of my mom. I wanted to show her just how important she is to me. I got the tattoo on my arm in her handwriting that says strength.

Being at college, 2 hours away from home, and away from my best friend was the hardest thing I had to do. College was difficult at first for me and I was struggling. So, Whenever I feel sad or stressed I just look down at my arm, and it’s almost as if my mom is with me.

I love you mom, thanks for helping me get to where I am today.

I am writing this to remind all college students to go thank their parents, siblings, or any guardian for helping them get to where they are today. Thanks mom for molding me into the independent woman I am right now writing this.
