Every TV show has a vibe that equates it to a specific season. There are shows I watch every time a season comes around, but sometimes a new show comes to comfort me in a season. This list is a culmination of both, and as it has brought me comfort, I hope that these shows could do the same for you.

  1. Shadowhunters

Shadowhunters | Season 1 Teaser: Series Premiere | Freeform

Based on Cassandra Clare’s popular book series, “The Mortal Instruments”, this show follows a group of Shadowhunters as they try to defend the Downworld, the people they love, and the city of New York. I’ve seen this show before, but this winter, my appreciation for it has returned in full force. It’s fun to get caught up in such a magical world filled with loveable characters.

  1. Queens Who Like to Watch

Drag Queens Trixie Mattel & Katya React to Heartstopper Season 1 | I Like to Watch | Netflix

This is a show available via Netflix’s YouTube page. It entails drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya watching and providing commentary for content available on Netflix. Their hilarious and vulgar conversations add an extra layer of interest to the already existing shows. If you want to fall down a rabbit hole in the best way, I recommend this web series for sure.

  1. Hawaii Five-0

Hawaii Five-0 – Season 1 Trailer

I’ve been watching the Hawaii Five-0 remake since I was in middle school, but I haven’t rewatched it in years. I was surprised by my desire to watch it in the middle of winter as it takes place in the sunniest place on earth, but then again, maybe that’s what my subconscious wants. I always love these characters, and the plot lines are captivating. It feels like more than a police procedural with all the emotion in it.

  1. The To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before Series

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before | Official Trailer | Netflix

Every year, despite my own singleness, I have the desire to rewatch this trilogy. I have read the books that inspired movies, but there’s something about the set design and the narration that makes the films so much more intimate. The comforting and welcoming story of Lara-Jean and Peter’s romance is exactly what keeps me coming back every year.

  1. Lockwood & Co

Lockwood & Co. | Official Trailer | Netflix

This show just recently came out on Netflix, so while it doesn’t have the longevity of the other comfort shows, it has really impacted me. This is a show that follows three young ghost hunters as they form their own agency and friendships. Lockwood & Co. surprised me because the world is inundated with supernatural shows, but the story was great. The characters and their relationships with each other were endearing. It was the perfect show to watch in a day.
