THINGS TO ADD TO YOUR WINTER BUCKET LIST

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KU chapter.

1. Ice Skating

Okay, if you aren’t the most coordinated maybe this is one you can leave off, but come on, ice skating! It is the ultimate thing to put on your winter bucket list, you can get the winter holiday movie vibes by just putting on the skates. Maybe you’ll even surprise yourself and be the next best ice skater!

2. Sledding

This is a classic but still provides me immense joy. Especially when you go with friends and create “extreme” hills using the snow. Make sure to be careful so your tailbone isn’t hurting!

3. Snowman Making

Who doesn’t want to build a snowman? This is again, another classic winter/snow activity that I hope to do this year. You can also spice this up and make it a competition against your friends and whoever wins gets to pick the movie you watch after being out in the cold!

4. Snow Angels

Now, this is something I actually haven’t done. I have always been to scared to lay in the snow…I know I know…I am a hater of the snow and try to distance myself from it. So, it is at the top of my list this year so I can say I have done it!

5. Hot Cocoa and Holdiay Movie

This is one of the most accessible things you can add to your bucket list. Grab any streaming service, or even an old DVD, some hot cocoa and marshmallows, and a cozy blanket to snuggle in to get into the holiday mood. One of my favorites is Rudolph!

6. Gingerbread House Making

Grab any gingerbread making kit and have a competition with your friends! And of course, while you are making the gingerbread houses…or people, you have a whole selection of candy to snack on during the competition.

7. Look at Lights

This is one of my favorite winter traditions. I like going to the zoo lights or around the lake to see the extravagant lights. You can even opt out of the organized events and drive around the neighborhood to see what your neighbors have put up.

8. Make ornaments

Now, this one is super sweet because you can put a date indicator on the ornament and continually remind yourself every year about what ornament comes from what year. This is again one of my favorite traditions and I look forward to it every year!

Hopefully my own winter bucket list can inspire yours! Happy winter!
