Finn: Finn’s favorite Halloween memory occurred when all his cousins came over to his house dressed in Bear’s football uniforms. The parents cooked inside while the kids played a massive game of football in the backyard.

“My family hasn’t had a halloween party in years, so this is very close to my heart.”

Kristine: Kristine has a fond memory of going house to house in her neighborhood, perusing through the haunted houses displayed at each one. The family members of each house would deck out their garage and scare kids as they walked through; the finale was a man with a chainsaw. She also found it very important to note that the houses gave out the full-size candy bars.

Grace: When she was in elementary school, Grace had a big night out on Halloween trick-or-treating with her friends. During that time, her parents went to drink at the local bar. At the end of the night, her friend’s mom dropped her off, but her parents weren’t back yet. Grace ended up waiting on the front porch in her sock monkey costume for two hours.

“It was freezing cold. I was like twelve.”

Brooke: Brooke’s most memorable memory of Halloween is when she was six years old. Her grandma handmade her Dorothy costume and then proceeded, along with her parents, to take her trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. A month later, a dog turned up on her grandparents’ doorstep, and she named him Todo.

“It was so fun. It was the first time I got to trick-or-treat with them all together.”

Audrey (me lol): My Halloween memory that stands out in my mind is a little violent. Every October 31st, my seven siblings, parents and I would all carve pumpkins together before trick-or-treating. My sisters and I would spend extensive time and energy on our pumpkins (everything has to be a competition between sisters). One year, my dad walked outside to see some teenage boys bashing my sister’s pumpkin. She was devastated and my dad was furious, resulting in him chasing the boys down the street, throwing some of our other jack-o-lanterns towards them. Halloween really brings out the best in people.
