It would take a long time to sum up all of the characteristics that make Jesse an exemplary Campus Cutie. Aside from his charming smile, he is one of the nicest guys on campus, if not the nicest. He is extremely generous with his time, always a helping and supportive hand, he’s a seriously good analytic thinker, and he tutors in his spare time. He’s one of the greatest friends around and this year seriously impressed with a homecooked Rosh Hashanah meal. (This gooey laudatory description of this week’s Cutie brought to you by one of his many fans, Editor Sara Spruch-Feiner)

Marissa Morte sat down with Jesse last week to learn more about this Kenyon man.

Jesse Goldfarb (SENIOR)

Hometown: Minneapolis
Year: Senior
Dorm: Morgan Apartments (Apartment 10)
Major: Psychology

What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I applied for Teach for America, so hopefully I’ll get that and then after that, grad school somewhere. After that…we’ll see, some sort of psychology hopefully. It’s kind of that unknown time for me. In terms of Teach for America, hopefully I will not work in an elementary school and hopefully not in the middle of nowhere. No more “this”, I’m used to a lot more going on and a big city.

Tell me about your perfect girl…
She is down-to-earth and very relaxed. She doesn’t freak out, is understanding, funny, and easy to talk to. That was a pretty generic answer. Hopefully she’ll be knowledgeable in conversational topics.

Single or Taken?
In the middle. There is a one person and its exclusive but its not official.

What do you like to do on the weekends?
Hang out with friends and sleep. I’ve been in the library a lot lately because its senior year. But I also like to go to the VI and get a drink with friends. I play pick up basketball when I can and I like to go on runs a lot.

What’s your drink of choice?
Gin and Tonic

What’s your favorite thing to eat outside of Peirce, while in Gambier?
VI Thai peanut chicken sandwich. It was better at Middle Ground as a wrap but the Village Inn doesn’t do a bad job.

Favorite Peirce Food?
Grilled chicken, of course. Oh, and the mashed potato bowls are so good.

Where do you think you’ll go after you graduate?
Hopefully New York. I would really love to be in a coastal city so New York or Seattle would be fun, but, who knows? Maybe home.

Describe the ideal activity to do with a girl?
Just hang out, getting a drink at the VI or having a nice dinner. Maybe even a movie. I’m happy just as long as its relaxed.

Favorite Movie?
Remember the Titans

Favorite genre of music?
60s and 70s classic rock. I like The Band, which is Bob Dylan’s back up singers who formed their own band.

What campus activates are you involved in?
I am the treasurer for J Street U. I also work at the Phone-a-Thon. Phone-a-Thon pretty much involves me calling and asking alumni for money. I also tutor an autistic kid. But, I spend most of my time in the library for honors psych. I also work for the Obama campaign on campus.

Favorite Dessert?
Banana Cake. Actually, have you been to Peggy Sue’s? It’s twenty minutes down the road. They have the best pies in the world. There is this really good pecan pie which has chocolate on the bottom. That’s the kind she recommends, but they are all really good.

Do you have a campus crush?
Chef Meagan. She is the head chef for the AVI. I have no idea how old she is but I think she’s absolutely beautiful. (FYI: Chef Meagan is not the one that Jesse is exclusive with!)

What Disney princess would you want to date?
I’d go with Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Favorite TV Show?
Right now probably Modern Family. But in the long run it is West Wing. Also, its kind of a girly show, but I like Friday Night Lights.

Jesse left me with some final advice for freshman collegiettes:
Don’t worry about regretting things from freshman year. Have fun.

and lastly, the #1 thing on your Kenyon bucket list:
Oh man, good question, I would have to say to make friends with all of the bookstore ladies
