A Few Things We Are Excited For In The 2 0 1 3

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

The year has only just begun, so who knows what it has in store? WE DO. Well, we know some of what it has in store, and more importantly we know a few of the things we’re most excited for! Take a look:

1. The Great Gatsby

Because books are cool and fun. No but truthfully, this movie looks awesome. The cast includes Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and obviously the dreamy Titanic…and by that I mean the ACTUAL BOAT is making an appearance. Hehe. That was a joke. Leonardo Dicaprio is also in it but he plays the insignificant, minor character of “Gatsby.” I don’t even remember that guy from the book.

2. Homeland is COMING BACK as well as the final season of Breaking Bad

Actually neither of us watch Breaking Bad but it is supposed to be a great show, so it is sad that it’s over…but that meth will live on ;)  Homeland is coming back because it rocks and everyone is obsessed with it. Carrie Mathison 4 Ever.

3. Ben and Jerry’s 30 Rock Ice Cream Flavor

You don’t even have to watch this show to know that this is so cool. Who doesn’t love Ben and Jerry’s??? Combine that with one of the funniest shows of our time…WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN FUNNY ICE CREAM? Nothing. It is being referred to as the “Celebrity Flavor” so that sounds fancy, fun, and cool. We don’t even care what the flavor is, we’re gonna eat it with tears streaming down our faces as we watch the finale of 30 Rock over and over again.

4. Return of Arrested Development

If you haven’t seen this show, your life is incomplete and you don’t even know it. Go on Netflix instant and start immediately because it is one of the most innovative, absurd, and hilarious shows around. Seriously, its cancellation was a travesty and its return is a downright miracle. SO EXCITING.

5. BEYONCE BEYONCE BEYONCE BEYONCE @ the Super Bowl (whatever that is)

So what if there was a lil controversy over her performance at the inauguration (which, by the way…)…its Beyoncé, and we will love her no matter what, which is why this year we care about the Super Bowl. BECAUSE SHE WILL BE THERE singing and melting our hearts at halftime. Touchdown? More like Countdown, by Beyoncé. Great song.
