HCK: What are you looking forward to most in your junior year?
Drew: Halloween is one thing. I’m dressing as the Mad Hatter. Also, going on more adventures with friends, both on and off campus.
What’s one goal you have this year?
To better learn Japanese.
You’re obviously a very musical person. What are all the instruments you play?
Piano, marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, glockenspiel, timpani, drum set, djembe (African drum), marching tenor drums, and didgery doo. And I’m learning guitar. I took two years of flute and one year of saxophone, but I probably can’t really play those anymore.
What do you like about being a musician at Kenyon?
Meeting new, talented friends in my various ensembles and getting to know the Music Department faculty and their pets. And I like getting to play unique non-Western instruments that I’ve never tried before.
In addition to participating in all these music ensembles, you’re also in a fraternity. What’s your favorite thing about being a Delt?
Being part of a great group of friends, throwing awesome formals, hanging out at bonfires, cookouts, and other fun activities, and watching our Brotherhood grow and evolve each year.
Are you guys planning any fun events that you can share with our audience?
Next Friday (the 11th), we’re throwing a party called Fun House. It’s a new party that we’ve never thrown before.
What made you want to be an Art major?
Playing certain video games at a young age, I paid attention to the graphics more than the gameplay itself. Especially in this Japanese game, Okami, which sparked my interest in different styles of art and animation. And I’ve always loved Disney and Pixar movies, which made want to go into animation.
So then what’s your dream job?
Animation designer or producer at Pixar or Dreamworks

What’s your favorite spot on campus, and why?
My room, because it’s spacious and I have a couch, a TV, and awesome decorations.
And finally, do you have any advice for the Class of 2019?
Be social, look into and join activities that pique your interest, and try to come out of your bubble when the opportunity presents itself.
