10 Hilarious Twitter Accounts You Should Follow

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

A grab bag of 10 Twitters that I, the author of this article, find funny and want to share with the world. Here we go:

1) Billy Eichner (@billyeichner)

Billy Eichner is a comedian who specializes in going out on the street and “interviewing” (read: harassing) anyone who passes by, making for hilarious footage, which you can see on YouTube.

2) Maude Apatow (@maudeapatow)

Maude Apatow became famous when her dad, Judd Apatow, started putting her in his movies. Thanks to her Twitter account, this 14 year old is now a sensation in her own right.

3) Josh Groban (@joshgroban)

Ok, forget for one second everything you think you know about Josh Groban, because it doesn’t matter. His Twitter is a blend of humor, sweetness, and interesting interactions with fans who tweet at him. Seriously though, I’ve probably heard one song by Josh Groban in my entire life and I still find his Twitter amusing and funny as heck.

4) Betty Francis (@FatBettyFrancis)

This one may not make sense if you’re not a fan of Mad Men but I had to include it anyways mostly to just express my appreciation for whoever made this account. Betty Francis is Don Draper’s ex-wife, who has since remarried and recently gained some weight, prompting the nickname “Fat Betty.” It’s really a lot less mean than it sounds… “Fat Betty” is used lovingly! The tweets are funny not just because they comment on Betty’s sudden weight gain, but because Betty was such a ridiculous character from the start. And sometimes they really have nothing to do with Betty at all…

5) Megan Amram (@meganamram)

Megan Amram is a comedian whose Twitter helped launch her into a writing job at Parks and Rec. That being said, Megan Amram is really weird. But it is a very specific, hilarious brand of weird that she pulls off like a pro. If her style of ridiculous, absurd comedy offends you, then I’m sorry. I’m sorry because you’re MISSING OUT.

6) Mindy Kaling (@mindykaling)

Mindy Kaling played Kelly Kapoor on The Office as well as writing for the show. Now she’s got her own show, The Mindy Project, that you should all be watching because she is one funny lady. Her Twitter offers a taste of her signature humor—imagine a mix of Kelly Kapoor, Tina Fey, and the late, great Nora Ephron.

7) Sarah Silverman (@SarahKSilverman)

Angry, feminist, and bodily humor as only Sarah Silverman can deliver. Some people don’t like Sarah Silverman, but I think she’s cool, and besides, her Twitter’s funny.

8) Ryan Lochte (@ryanlochte)

The Olympics are over, but Ryan Lochte never stops.

9) Jessi Klein (@jessirklein)

Jessi Klein is one of the lesser-known people on this list, but don’t let that throw you off—her Twitter game is A+. Jessi Klein has a background in comedy (stand-up and TV development) and her humor is sharp and witty, just the way we like it.

10) Anna Kendrick (@AnnaKendrick47)

If you don’t know/love her by now, you’re late to the party. Last year’s sleeper hit (yeah, I’m calling it a sleeper hit) “Pitch Perfect” showed audiences that Anna Kendrick can be more than that girl who cries in front of George Clooney in “UpIn The Air.” She’s funny, you guys! And unlike most celebrities, she actually seems just like us.

Sara is a senior English major, Art History minor, and Women's and Gender studies concentrator at Kenyon College. She was born and raised in Manhattan and never dreamed she would attend college surrounded by cornfields. She has spent two summers as an editorial intern at ELLE Magazine. She always has a magazine (or three) with her. She loves her role as Kenyon's Campus Correspondent!
