Harry, Where’s the Style?

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

Harry Styles has been busy with his extraneous 2022 round of Love on Tour including residencies in New York, Toronto, Texas, Chicago and Los Angeles. Styles is known for, well, his style (and music, obviously). Breaking the barriers between masculine and feminine clothing, he has been adored and admired by millions. On the most recent leg of his tour, his outfits have been widely talked about and criticized. Previous tour looks of his have included sparkly and wide-legged suits, as well as fun colored pants with suspenders. During this round of tour, Styles has taken a different approach. Today, I’ll be ranking Harry’s worst tour outfits from least hideous to literally “what were you thinking, this is horrid” (sorry H, love you). Now to preface, I am not including the few good outfits, only analyzing the worst of the worst. Let’s get into it.

Dublin

Okay, it’s definitely not the worst. It’s fun and feels really retro! At least there’s only one pattern…but why chevron? My twin-sized bed comforter looked like this when I was 9.

NYC night 15

I honestly don’t hate this. Are they the colors of Sharpie highlighters? Sure, but he makes it work. It’s giving sparkly fruit roll-up.

hamburg

Consistency with the polka dots, fine. Black and yellow like a cute little bumble bee. It’s really not bad, I am just not a fan of the big circle print.

antwerp

Once again, patterns are similar to each other…but definitely not the best. It’s a lot to look at, but maybe that’s the point?

berlin

In a weird way, this works. It has the color theme of ‘As it Was’ with the red and blue, and the mix-match patterns are kinda fun. Also not to mention he is really wearing out these red shoes.

budapest

I’m not sure what the sudden obsession for circles and polka dots is. I’m not a fan of this color scheme at all. I guess I just expect more out of Mr. Styles.

madrid

I really like the shirt, it definitely is more on brand for him. The downfall was pairing it with the chevron pants. Boooo.

NYC night 12

At least there is a color scheme here. I’m honestly not too opposed to the high-waisted overall/suspender look.

austin night 2

I honestly like the checkerboard top but with the pants…I have nothing nice to say and my mom always told me if I have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

austin night 4

Hideous. Atrocious. The top is giving Ronald McDonald. I’m so angry. Listen, Harry, we love you! Maybe I’m being too judgmental, but I promise you, you can do better. You already have!

What do you guys think? Am I being too harsh? His past tour looks have been amazing, especially in 2018 with his famous Gucci suits. He obviously went for a different approach which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I give him props though for wearing whatever he wants. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters. One thing we can all agree on is no matter what Harry decides to wear, we all love him regardless.
