5 Little things to know about Kean University.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kean chapter.

1. At Kean parking is at another level it is a huge nightmare. Of course you can find parking, but get ready to walk a mile. I’m not saying don’t drive to school or start taking the bus or train. Like every university parking always has been an issue for students.

2.Organizations at Kean is like going shopping, but can’t find what you want. Its just to many of them. Check the Cougar Link, to know more about our clubs, organizations, sororities and fraternities. Also a great opportunity to be involved at school,to fundraise and volunteer. At the end of a day it would not be enough.

3.Get ready to have money on your Kean ID. If you want to print on any computer at Kean you have to pay. It’s not optional. There is also the Flex Plan, its like a debit card, you are able to purchase food, buy books by just using your Kean ID. How cool is that?

4.The food at Kean is delicious. We even have our own Starbucks. How awesome is that. Coffee Break Anyone? Is located at the Library. It should be a place to study, get information, rent library books, but at the same is a place to just sit and relax. At the University Center at the Atrium that’s where the cafeteria is. There are also other places to get snacks and not be hungry anymore.

5. For all freshman students and transfer students, if its your first day at Kean, get ready to download the map on the Kean website because you would need it. It’s so huge. You really can get lost. I’m not talking about getting lost at the building where your class is located. I’m talking about the whole campus. If you are planning to park your car, remember where you park because the parking is also huge. I hope you have a wonderful week and be proactive.
