April is here, which means another school year has almost ended. For those who aren’t graduating this year, the thoughts of returning to The Best School on Earth next semester are comforting enough to endure the summer. However, seniors need to fill their last month in Harrisonburg with things they haven’t gotten a chance to do in their four years here — or maybe just do them all over again.
Here’s a list of things all you seniors need to do before you graduate:
1. Go to a vineyard.
Get dressed up in your springtime best for a classy afternoon. After you leave Harrisonburg, how often will you get the chance to sip wine surrounded by the Shenandoah Mountains? Check out CrossKeys Vineyards — they have events coming up, like “Sip and Splash Painting Class” and other tours. And it’s only about 15 minutes away.
2. Watch a band play at Clementine’s.
You might have eaten here before, but stopping in this cute downtown café while a band is playing is a completely different experience. Grab some friends and check out some of the local talent. You never know who might become famous!
3. Eat a Jack Brown’s special burger.
We all have heard of this yummy local restaurant at the corner downtown. But have you ever eaten one of their special burgers? Each night, Jack Brown’s cooks up a special burger: anything from a hotdog burger to a macaroni burger. Not to mention, fried Oreos to top it all off! It’s a must-do before you leave JMU.
4. Make a trip to the puppy farm.
These cute puppies pop up on everyone’s Facebook news feed. If you haven’t been lucky enough to cuddle with these cuties, now’s the time do it! Get some friends and head to the puppy farm for once last chance to be surrounded by adorable pups.
5. Finish your JMU Bucket List
Still haven’t crossed off everything on your JMU Bucket List? Now’s the time to do it. If you do anything before you graduate, it better be this list. Here’s a little reminder of a few things that are on it: find the tunnels, streak the quad, swim in Newman Lake and climb the Wilson Bell Tower.
