Hey JMU Collegiettes! Do you have some free time from classes and schoolwork for a change? Now is the time to “do downtown.” Harrisonburg’s Historic Downtown is a great to grab a bite, get a drink

with friends or go for a stroll. It’s a straight shot from campus on South Main Street, so downtown is a perfect place to venture if you’re stuck on campus without a car!



Some of my favorite places included in this video include Shank’s Bakery (ShanksBakery.com), The Artful Dodger (ArtfulDodgerLounge.blogspot.com) and Friendly City Co-op (FriendlyCityCoop.com). The reason why I chose these locations was that JMU students need to know more about the little hidden gems downtown. (Of course I love Jack Brown’s, Daves, Clementine, Beyond and many

others…)

Chantal Johnson is a senior at James Madison University, studying Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Digital Video and Cinema.
