Why BodyRock.Tv is the Hot New Way to Exercise!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JHU chapter.

BodyRock is in the house tonight, everybody just have a good time – a good time burning fat and toning up that is! BodyRock.Tv is a new workout program centered on those who want to get a quick, high intensity, muscle-toning, at-home workout using a very minimal amount of equipment. The words “quick” and “at-home” are what caught my eye the first time I ran into BodyRock.Tv (on Pinterest actually). Sometimes I just don’t have time to get a ton of exercise in. Juggling classes, work, and extracurricular activities is something
just about all of us can relate to. Exercise is an important part of life and is especially important for college students. Several studies have shown that exercising in college helps to fight the “freshman 15,” fight off stress, decrease risks of illness, and help you manage your schedule. If you aren’t able to make it to the gym for a full workout, there are several things you can do instead, including trying the BodyRock.Tv workout program.

I love BodyRock because not only is it extremely convenient, it’s doable (unlike some of those workouts like Insanity and P90X), and boosts my self-confidence through the roof! BodyRock started out small, but has developed into an intense at-home workout program. There are several different “trainers” that alternate throughout the videos. I see Lisa the most, but Sean and Haley make appearances as well. While I must admit, their bodies are a bit intimidating; it only makes me train harder. There are so many reasons to try BodyRock.Tv for all of your workout needs, here are just a few! [pagebreak]

10 Reasons Why BodyRock.Tv Absolutely Rocks!

1. Probably the most important thing about BodyRock is that it is FREE and always will be!

2. Like I’ve already mentioned, these workouts are very doable. There are beginner, intermediate, and advanced versions of most of the moves – so there is something for everybody!

3. The trainers in the videos are very encouraging. They encourage not only by their looks and their fitness level, but also by their words. “You can do it,” “Keep pushing,” “Only a few more left,” “If you need a break, take a break but get right back into it,” “Go at your own pace,” “Work it like you want it,” are just a few of the most commonly heard encouragements. I don’t know about everyone else, but for me – they definitely help.

4. Most of the newer videos are in real-time, meaning you can workout along with the trainer in the video. Some of the older ones just give you a breakdown of the moves and the interval times so you can do it on your own. I prefer the real-time videos because it gives me something to pace myself with.

5. You’ll never get bored with a repetitive routine. All of the workouts are different and almost all of them have new, original moves that are pretty easy to learn. If any of the workouts require equipment, they always show modifications without equipment or modifications using household items of equipment.

6.  The website is full of awesome stuff! From food and healthy diet tips and recipes, to equipment information, and a place where all BodyRockers can come together and share their success stories, it’s really a great place to spend some time browsing around.

7. Along with the great workout videos that are added every day, there is a selection of 30-day fitness challenges that can be a great way to get your new exercise regimen started!

8. The workouts are dorm room friendly – you don’t need a lot of space and there isn’t an insane amount of jumping or running involved.

9. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). There are several benefits to HIIT including: a boost to your metabolism, and effective way of burning fat and building muscle, and a healthier heart to name a few!

10. There’s an app for that. Now you can have your sculpting, fat burning, toning, and yoga (yes, they do yoga too!) workouts with you wherever you go. The new app features workout videos and tips on eating clean and general fitness.

While I absolutely love BodyRock I must give a slight warning: BodyRock is very sexual. By this I mean that the titles of the workout videos are a bit provocative along with some of the camera angles and pictures on the website. It was a little awkward at first, but it’s not something that could turn me away from all the great benefits BodyRock has to offer.

Here at Hopkins, sometimes work, studying for exams, clubs, sports, and socializing can take up most of our precious time. If you’re having a hard time squeezing in a trip to the gym, I highly recommend trying out some of the BodyRock workouts. While 12 – 15 minutes doesn’t seem like much, it’s a great place to start, and these workouts will make it feel much longer!
