Vault & Vine Review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

The other day I was able to spare some time to visit this new coffee shop plus plant store down on Midvale Ave in East Falls. A coffee shop and a plant store? I was convinced this was going to be a great experience.

The shop is tucked into this tiny parking lot, but they make good use of the space. It’s split in half, where one side was all about coffee and tea, but surrounded by all these beautiful plants and flowers. The other half had this greenhouse garden filled with everything from ferns to succulents to the prettiest flowers in bloom. It was such a beautiful layout and I felt a sense of calm as soon as I stepped in.

I first decided to get some tea; I chose to go with a traditional Japanese Sencha. My friend who I dragged along with me got Earl Grey tea. It was nice to just sit and talk, while enjoying some really good tea. It was a really calm atmosphere and it was nice to take a break from the craziness of everyday.

After we sat for almost an hour, we decided to pop into the other half of the store where we were overwhelmed with all these amazing plants. If I had more money on hand, I would’ve left with an aloe plant, and my friend was going to get a mini cactus. Even though we didn’t, the prices for the plants were pretty cheap in comparison to usual plant store prices.

In all, I highly recommend stopping by this little shop. It was such a nice way to start my day and spend some time relaxing. I suggest trying to go at a time when they have their pastries ready. When I got there, there weren’t any left, so I was a little disappointed. That’s just me being a foodie though. This place is still a must visit on anybody’s coffee shop list. With great prices, quality drinks and beautiful scenery what more could you want?
