I might be the last person to give out Halloween costume ideas, mainly since I have not celebrated the holiday in a couple of years. However, seeing all the unique ideas everyone is coming up with on TikTok, I decided to compile a list and share them with those who need some last-minute inspiration.

  1. Queen: The Queen of England, Queen the band, Nicki Minaj

This brand of ideas on TikTok is actually what inspired me to write this article. This is a great costume idea for a group of friends, coworkers, or family. To elaborate, this trend means picking a word and having everyone dress in different interpretations of that word. Or, if it is two people and you pick the word “Caesar,” one could dress like the dressing and the other like the roman dictator Caesar. I find these types of costumes hilarious, and it provides some flexibility to a friend group that wants to be cohesive but also expresses their individuality.

  1. Rhyming Schemes

This concept of ideas was also inspired by a very long TikTok from a very large group of friends (My apologies, I don’t remember the creator of the video). Each couple or pair of friends picked words that rhyme and dressed up as them. I remember one couple, for example, dressed up as an old lady and a baby. There were plenty of creative and unique takes on this trend, and I hope to see more as Halloween comes around.

  1. The Winx Fairies

Or any fairies in general

  1. Bridgerton

Whip out your old homecoming or prom dresses and voila!

  1. Childhood Cartoon Characters

Strawberry Shortcake & Arthur are some of my favorites but also: Clifford, Arthur, Sid the Science Kid, SuperWhy, SpongeBob, Simpsons, Barbie, Bratz, Power Rangers, Dora, ToyStory, Teletubbies, the Minions, etc…

  1. Teenage Years T.V. Show Characters

Hannah Montana, iCarly, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, etc…

  1. Disney
  1. The Basics

Ghost, Pumpkin, Vampire, Witch, Scarecrow, Cowboy

  1. Candy & Food

This idea works the best if you have a group or a pair of people. Or if you want to be a singular Cheeto or ranch bottle…

  1. Something niche to you

For example, you could do something regarding your major. If you and a friend are Psych majors, one could dress like Pavlov, and the other like Pavlov’s dog. Or science majors could do a chemical and a buret; extra points if you could pull off an acid-base titration.

Have a happy & safe Halloween 2022!
