Activities to Look Forward to With the Warm Weather Approaching

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

In many ways, it feels like the year just started, but the months are flying by, as it is officially spring, and summer is quickly approaching! Although the winter months have their pros, there are definitely a lot of fun ways to spend your time when it is not thirty degrees outside like it was in the Philadelphia area! Here are six activities you can plan and look forward to doing as the warm weather approaches and life becomes a little easier!

  1. Beach and Boardwalk Trips

Something that may seem so basic but is definitely one of my favorite parts of summer is going to the beach. As someone who can lay on the beach for hours just soaking up the sun, beaches are one of the most perfect places to be in the warmer months. If sunbathing really isn’t your thing, walking on the beach, swimming in the ocean, or even playing games and grabbing something to eat on the boardwalk are always amazing ways to enjoy the wonderful warm weather (especially at a low cost!)

  1. Zoo

If you’re in Jersey and already at or heading to one of the beaches, the Cape May Zoo is always a fun and eventful place to stop by. Not only is this zoo free, but they have many kinds of animals that you can enjoy watching. In the winter and colder months of the year, there are many animals that don’t spend much of their time outside, making the warm summer months the best time to go to the zoo!

  1. Outdoor Concerts

Probably my favorite part of the summer is going to concerts at outdoor locations. Having gone to four outdoor concerts last summer (and close to thirty concerts overall) I know firsthand that outdoor concerts on a nice summer day are the best of the best. When it comes to Freedom Mortage Pavillion, formally known as the BB&T, the lawn tickets typically range anywhere from twenty to fifty dollars, which is very worth if for the amazing time you’ll have and the memories you’ll make while being there!

  1. Topgolf

An activity that is not so cheap but is very fun would be going to Topgolf. Although Topgolf is open year-round due to their climate-controlled hitting bays, going to Topgolf when the weather is nicer, in general, is something that is definitely worth doing. Not only can you have fun with friends and family, but you can also order food to enjoy while you’re golfing! Although the price can be kind of high, it is something very fun to do every once in a while, as it gets nice out.

  1. Outside Seating at Restaurants

Even though you can enjoy going to a nice restaurant no matter what time of year it is, a lot of restaurants have outdoor seating that you aren’t able to enjoy unless it is nice outside. Being able to sit outside and have a bite to eat while enjoying the fresh air is something that is very underrated and something I love to do in the summertime.

  1. Baseball Games

Although I am not a huge fan of sports, I really like to go to baseball games, especially with my boyfriend! On top of enjoying the beautiful weather, the vibes at a baseball game feel so special, especially when with your special someone. Even if you are not a big fan of baseball or sports in general, I would recommend going to a baseball game, especially because even if you don’t enjoy it, the tickets are relatively cheap!
