5 Tips for Studying When You Have a Short Attention Span

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

As someone who has a short attention span, studying and doing work can become incredibly difficult for me. In the past year, I have found some tips that have helped me keep my grades up to par and not miss any assignments. Here are some to try if you also struggle with this!

1. Specifically plan what you want to get done each day of the week

2. Start with the assignments due the soonest

3. Put in earbuds and listen to music (the best would be instrumental on a medium volume) to block out outside distractions

4. If bored, switch assignments or take a 5 minute brain break

5. If studying for an exam, use interactive tools such as Quizlet or Quizziz instead of reading over notes
