This week’s Her Campus Celebrity is Nora Cuthbertson! Nora is a junior at JCU from Berlin Heights, Ohio. As a Blue Streak, she’s studying Finance and Theology, and she’s really involved with Campus Ministry. “I really just love everyone in there,” said Nora regarding Campus Ministry, “I’ve met so many amazing people.”

This year is also her second year as a CFC (that’s “Carroll Faith Communities”) leader, but she’s been a member of CFC for her entire time as a Blue Streak. “It’s nice to be able to relax during the week,” Nora explained. “To have an hour not to have to worry about anything. I love my group too! They’re so cute, and we can talk about anything.”

Nora’s also planning on leading an immersion trip to Ecuador this spring. This will be her second trip at Carroll; she went to Jamaica during the second semester of her freshmen year. Nora says that she’s loved her immersion experiences because you get to travel and meet and help new people. She says it’s taught her that in order to help people, we need to be humble. “Immersion trips are so great. We have a saying: ‘break our hearts, so we can fix others’, and they break your heart in the best way,” says Nora.

This past week, Nora was one of the members of the Inner Faith Panel, which consisted of six students all of different faith backgrounds, who answered questions about their religious background and common misconceptions about their faith. “I loved that I got to learn about other faith’s perspectives, but also that I got to learn more about my own faith,” said Nora.

Nora is also the VP of Alpha Omega, which plans Festive of Praise, as well as several other spiritual retreats during the year. Nora has also been to March for Life six times already and is planning to go on her seventh soon. When she’s not fixing up the hearts of others, Nora likes to watch One Tree Hill and She’s The Man, while eating smooth peanut butter and hanging out with Father Cozzens, who is her neighbor. We want to wish Nora luck on her immersion trip and in the rest of her plans for the future!
