New year, new me, right? No. Every January it seems like all anyone really wants to know is what your New Year’s resolution will be. Why do people assume that just because it is the New Year that something drastic needs to change about you? A majority of people who make a resolution do not end up following through with it, so what is even the point? There is a lot of pressure surrounding making a resolution and often, it is something that you may not even want to do. I know that some people do need this extra little push and New Years resolutions may work out for some, but for many, it is a short-lived experience that is quickly left behind.

Don’t limit yourself to making lifestyle changes only on January 1st. If you want to start eating better, saving money, traveling more, getting more organized, or whatever else, you don’t have to wait to start in at the beginning of the year- start now! If you wait to start something like this, do you really want to do it? Don’t force anything- you’re not going to stick to anything if you don’t really want to do it. Do it on your own time, with your own terms. Don’t feel like you need to make this big change just because it is the beginning of the year, make changes because you want to be a better version of yourself. Make changes because you want to, not because you feel like you have to. Bettering yourself is not about anyone except you.
