After seeing “Isn’t It Romantic” last night, I was reminded of why I love romantic comedies so much. Although they tend to follow the same storyline, rom coms will always be enjoyable to me, as they have happy endings, a lovable protagonist and, most importantly, a dramatic makeover montage.

The girl ends up with her best guy friend. We’ve seen this in “13 Going on 30,” “Clueless,” “27 Dresses” and countless others, but this predictable ending is always endearing – to me, anyway.

The clumsy, lovable protagonist. Who wouldn’t love Bridget Jones from “Bridget Jones’ Diary”?

A musical sequence. I know it’s technically a musical already, but “Mamma Mia!”, anyone?
