It is that time of year again for the second Victoria’s Secret swim special. It was on Wednesday, March 9th and it aired on CBS at 9. It featured 13 Victoria Secret Models including Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Martha Hunt, Josephine Skriver, Taylor Hill, Sara Sampaio, and many others. The swim shoot took place at Saint Barthelemy or St. Barths which is a French Island in the Carribean. The musical guests included Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato who sang some of their popular hits.
The opening of the show consisted of the girls flying to the island and needing coffee which is a relatable subject. It featured the girls doing various poses that are not shown within the rest of the special. There is a Candice Swanepoel feature discussing her and her signature poses that are legendary. It becomes clear that she is the new head angel for the brand since Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio are not included in the special.
The special shows different aspects of the brand such as the sports brand with a new background in earthy elements, the regular lingerie shooting, and of course the swim suit shooting of the various models. Similar to last year, there is a volleyball game that happens between four of the models which is a fun feature that is included in the special. Some of the models enjoy going hiking, jet skiing, and having fun with the other models on social media.
The special allows the models to have more fun at night with the musical talents performing with the models. When Nick Jonas performed, the girls wore bohemian style clothing while Martha Hunt recorded the performance with her cell phone. Demi Lovato performed while wearing black glam wear and the models were wearing similar outfits. The performances went very well and they suited the special.
All in all, the special went well and it definitely developed an interest for the clothing worn by many viewers. There is a huge motivation to get the swim cover so everyone is working hard with their poses and wanting to be adventurous.
