#1 Harry Styles

I am a big Harry Styles fan, and I have been since One Direction. Last September, I was on my externship for culinary school in French Lick, Indiana and I knew Harry was going to be in Chicago for his residency shows in October. I looked at concert tickets almost everyday, trying to convince myself to just go. One night, I bought one ticket, and I spent a pretty penny on it. A few weeks later, it’s the weekend of the concert and I am so excited. I had my outfit ready and my boa was bought. I drove to Chicago Saturday evening and I camped out, which was a little scary since I went alone and I was on the streets of Chicago but I was surrounded by people who were doing the same thing. I got my wristband and got my merch then went to my car to get ready.

Once 6:00 hit, they started letting people in. I got to the pit and ran, luckily I did. I got barricade. I was freaking out, wondering how I’m going to be so close to my favorite artist. He came on stage at 8:00, starting with the song ‘Daydreaming’. It was such a fun experience at this concert, and I had the time of my life. Everyone in the pit was singing, dancing, talking to one another, and jumping around. When the show ended, he ran off the stage. This is the part of the story that sometimes I can’t even believe. I got barricade where he runs out, and I touched Harry Styles. Crazy, right? Then I left, crying. This is my #1 favorite concert I’ve been to and I hope to be able to see him again in concert.

#2 Louis Tomlinson

I’ve seen Louis twice, and both times were just so much fun. I saw him in Pittsburgh on Valentine’s Day of 2022, what a good Valentine, am I right?! The second time was in Columbus, Ohio at the beginning of June this past summer. The experience I’ll be talking about is the second time I saw him. I got my tickets during presale and I was so so excited because I knew what his concerts are like; loud, fun, and everyone is so kind. The day of the concert rolls around, and my best friend and I pack a couple bags and drive to our hotel in Columbus. We got ready at the hotel and then go to the venue to stand in line. I made friends with the girls that were in line around us, which one of them is now a very good friend to me.

We got in the venue and we ended up towards the back of the pit (the pit is my favorite place to be at a concert). The friend that came with me ended up going back to the hotel before Louis even came on stage. I stayed, and the one girl that I met in line stuck with me the entire concert because we got along well and she came alone. I really enjoy his music, and I listen to it quite often. I was crying half the concert, especially during his song ‘Chicago’ and ‘Holding on to Heartache’. The concert was coming to an end and then confetti went off. I had an arm full of confetti (it sat in my car for weeks after that), and then went back to the hotel. Definitely one of my favorite concerts. Louis Tomlinson will always hold a special place in my heart, as his music has helped me get through some rough patches in my life.

#3 Greta Van Fleet

Greta Van Fleet I’ve been listening to for a couple years now and I saw them quite recently. They were in Cleveland, Ohio on September 23rd, 2023 and I got tickets during presale. When I told you that I fought for pit, I FOUGHT for it but ended up not getting it (I was so sad). I was still on the floor and it was very similar to the pit so I wasn’t disappointed when I was there. I love Greta Van Fleet and every member of the band. Their music isn’t for everyone but I love it. The concert was so so good and it was the last show of the US portion of the Starcatcher tour, so it was special. They had so many light effects and fire. They also had an acoustic set which was played at the B stage which was actually pretty close to the seats I had. I would love to be able to see them in concert again, and I am sure I will be able to (I want them to release another album even though they just released one this year).
