With midterms right around the corner, it is a peak time of stress for many students at IUP. Because of this, many collegiates may be scrambling to find a place to concentrate on their studies without the chatter of their peers to deter them. Sure, there’s always the Stapleton Library, but with the delicious smells of Java City tantalizing you and the constant chatter of nearby pupils, it can be almost impossible to get work done there. So, why not check out a few other places around IUP’s campus that are peaceful, solitary, and perfect for late night cramming sessions?

Ahh, can’t you just feel yourself relax as you look at these photos? These decorations are featured at Commonplace Coffee, a small coffee shop right behind Stouffer Hall in Indiana. It is open during the week from 7:00am-10:00pm and its quiet atmosphere allows for a very productive homework session.

Another great, peaceful coffee shop to study in is Caffe Amadeus, right on Philadelphia Street. It is somewhat Harry Potter themed, and the baristas even include latte/cappuccino art in your drinks. They are open from 7:00-5:00pm during the week, making it a great place for a day study session with friends!

Take advantage of the great outdoors while the nice weather is still here! Venture of campus and explore the beautiful, quaint town of Indiana to find a peaceful spot in nature to study. You may find that the background noise of chirping birds or a babbling brook may be the perfect study companion.

I am a student at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with two strong passions: education and travel. I plan to combine the two by teaching English abroad after I receive my degree in English education and Spanish education. But for now, I am enjoying my time at IUP and life in general! I feel that a day in which I didn't express myself is a day wasted. I love to develop my music taste by DJing for IUP's radio station. I also really enjoy cooking and adding my own twist to recipes - I hope to make a vegetarian cookbook someday! Finally, I have always had a love for writing, which is how I got involved with Her Campus in the first place. I started as a contributing writer, and now I am a campus correspondent for IUP's chapter of Her Campus. I look forward to working with all of the other students who belong to this great organization and cannot wait to see what will happen when all of our creativity and ideas mix together!
