Getting an “A” is easy,

Do your work,

Study,

Pay attention,

Ask questions,

Nobody sees the back end of that though,

Nobody ever sees the actual hardship,

The nights alone,

The self-hate,

The never good enough feeling,

The hurt you feel when you get a “B”,

The stress,

The anxiety,

Nobody ever sees

“What did you get?”

“Oh, I got a B”,

Never a “that’s really good”,

Always an “I’m sorry” or “better luck next time”,

What’s wrong with a “B”?

B for being around people,

B for beautiful moments

B for being human,

But wait,

To reach our goals “B” isn’t good enough,

Human isn’t good enough

Getting an “A” is easy,

All you have to do is a couple of things,

Feel bad about yourself often,

Overwork yourself,

Be exhausted every day,

Give up the happier choice,

Being an “A” student is more important,

You can’t be a doctor with a “B”,

You can’t be an engineer with a “B”,

You can’t be what you’re supposed to be with a “B”,

What is that though,

You are to be a worker or a model citizen,

Never a mom or a friend,

Only a piece of society,

Only a grade,

Not a person
