It is “The most wonderful time of year” once again! As you walk around campus it is obvious that the holiday season is in full swing. Whether it is the glistening Christmas lights that cover the union, or the first day of snowfall that reminds you to watch your step before finding yourself caught under the mistletoe. There are a few important things to keep in mind to be sure that your kiss will be remembered this year!
1. A kiss under the mistletoe will not resemble your latest make out session at Saturday night’s frat party. Under no circumstances is it ever acceptable to handle it in the same manor. Therefore, you must make sure to keep it clean and romantic. Start with an eskimo kiss, these are tender and playful and lead to a great build up!
2. We all know the absolute biggest turn off is kissing a boy with bad breath. The only solution is to banish bad breath before going in to lock lips. However, bad breath is just as unsexy as a girl chomping on a wad of gum is! Brush your teeth before going out on your date, and if possible, pop a breath mint before sharing your special moment. No boy wants to know what you had for dinner that night!
3. In the winter months, all girls face the battle of chapped lips. This phenomenon is something we are all faced with, but must cure before swapping spit under the mistletoe! Make sure to always carry a travel size chap stick in your purse. Reapply often throughout your date, but remember, no dark lipstick colors unless you want your partner to wear it too by the end of the night!
4. We can all agree that a good kiss can be based greatly on the positioning of your bodies. When kissing your man, pull him in tight and show him that you care about him. Grab his hand for a little squeeze and show him how passionate, you can be and I can promise you, your date will be ending on a memorable note!
5. Contrary to popular belief, using tongue during a heartfelt kiss is a no-go. Opening your lips slightly is acceptable, but there is no reason your tongue should be let off its leash! Keep it smooth and slow and this will have your boy wanting more then just a quick under the mistletoe treat!
