IU From a Freshman’s Perspective: Broadway on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

Hello Her Campus!!

Today, I want to talk about the IU Auditorium. At orientation, they brought all of the parents and newbie freshman inside, and the magic took over.

It was so big and spacious and just awesome, really.

Then… hook, line, and sinker.

The directors started talking about the 2010-2011 season. There was Legally Blonde, Blue Man Group, The Joffrey Ballet, oh my! I couldn’t wait to start going to the shows and pretending I wasn’t a college student, but a sophisticated city girl.

My roommate and I were so excited that during Welcome Week we bought tickets to Legally Blonde and Blue Man Group.

Getting ready to go see Legally Blonde was so exciting! As we walked over to the auditorium, our excitement grew. We sat in our seats and waited.

After the show had ended, it finally hit us that we would never get this opportunity again- to go see a Broadway production on a Tuesday night for only $38.

It was one of many ‘welcome to college’ moments that I’ve had since starting my journey in August.

College definitely has its ups and downs, but the wonderful shows and events IU offers are definitely an up.

Check out the other shows that are coming to the auditorium this semester. Buy your tickets online or charge them to your Bursar account at the IU Auditorium Box Office.
