Confessions of a Teenage Drama… King?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

Between the catfights and drama queen rep of many sorority girls and Smallwood GDIs, the gossiping award is almost always given to the ladies of Indiana. Recent discoveries have shown that this is in fact, NOT the case. Sorry Frat Stars but your secret is out: you are the official Gossip Girls of IU. Whether it is anonymously through their frat twitter feeds or telling their roommates all of the dirty deets of the weekend during Sunday a
fternoon football, the boys at this school are a story away from having a pillow fight and braiding each other’s hair.

For most girls, having a boy talk about you behind your back is like having food on your face: you assume someone will point it out to you, but rarely anyone does. Unless the gossip is getting back to your best friend or sorority sister, no one will ever fill you in that your guy is secretly using you until Little 5 or sleeping with that girl in your W131 class.

With that said, HCIU presents the 5 easy ways to keep you on your A-Game and OFF of your favorite Frat’s list serv:

1. Avoid sleepovers. The less time you spend with your hook-up, the less he can say about you. Stay calm and GTFO of there.

2. Do NOT get with his bros. Many girls, like myself, are guilty of being frat rats to a specific frat. Everyone has their preferred frat, but don’t make the common mistake of getting with your guy’s friends or you can guarantee that you will be talked about.

3. Cover your tracks. If you do something wrong, make sure no one finds out by only telling people you really trust.

4. Dress to impress. If it isn’t Halloween, you really shouldn’t be wearing lingerie to a frat. Don’t give boys a reason to judge you before you even speak.

5. Apologize. If you did something wrong, apologize to your guy. Making things right isn’t as bad as getting blacklisted from his frat.
