5 Ways To Look Cute: The Morning After

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

After what seemed like a romantic night of house music and Karkov shots, you may find yourself waking up in a random room – or cold dorm – and not alone. If you are not feeling as hot as you felt last night, don’t panic. While it would be great if we could all pull a Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids and run to the bathroom to reapply a full face of makeup, this is usually not the case.

HCIU presents 5 easy ways to make that walk of shame a little less shameful.

1. No one likes a raccoon. Take the extra second before your guy wakes up to wipe away the eyeliner and mascara that you probably never took off last night. Having black smudges on your finger will definitely be less embarrassing than all over your face.

2. Gum is a girl’s best friend. Don’t leave your room for the night without slipping a few pieces of gum in your bag. While your
guy is sleeping, you can easily reach into your bag and chew a piece of gum to save yourself from some awkward morning breath.

3. Long hair, don’t care. If you have long hair that gets easily tangled, run your fingers through it to brush out any awkward knots. While this is obviously not at great as a brush, it still can make a difference. Also, try to wear a hair tie on your wrist while going out so you can easily throw your hair up in the morning to rock a casual ponytail.

4. Steal his sweatshirt. If you want to hide your outfit from the night, ask your guy to borrow his sweatshirt. This also makes a great excuse to see him again.

5. Lastly, never overstay your welcome. Let’s be honest – you both barely slept last night and there is going to be a point in the morning that he no longer wants you there. Do yourself a favor and leave before you are asked to leave.
