Beyonce: The Woman Of Our Generation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ithaca chapter.

Sasha Fierce, Queen Bey, or the ultimate Diva, Beyonce Knowles is one of the most iconic woman of our generation. From the beginning as the lead member of Destiny’s Child, Beyonce has stolen our hearts with her talent, beauty and that hot body. Bey has not only been an inspiration to me, but to millions of girls around the world.

Why can’t we get enough of the Diva? Besides her bootylicious attitude and angelic voice, Beyonce is a strong and independent women. After watching her halftime performance for the millionth time, I have created a guide for you to be the fiercest girl you can be.

Confidence
Beyonce literally reeks of confidence. Whether she is performing at a concert, rocking a new fashion or starring in a movie, Beyonce carries herself in the utmost manner. Beyonce does stay true to herself. When she wants something, she works for it and when she is performing, she gives it her all. How can you portray this stellar confidence? Simply by being yourself. Know that simple fact and anything that you want to do, put your everything into it.

Talent
Now, we all can’t shake our booties or riff on those high notes, but we can rock our own individual talents. If you are good at playing guitar, start your own band. If you like to paint, show your work at an art gallery. If you can actually get low like Beyonce, take dance lessons. Bey was blessed with musical talent and seizes every opportunity to showcase it.

Beauty
Beyonce is not just a beautiful woman; she literally glows from every part of her body. Beyonce says that she washes her face twice a day and even more when she is working. Taking of your skin and body will make you feel healthier and stronger. “The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice. It’s more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself. It doesn’t matter what trainer you have.” If you want to radiate like the Queen, work it out, ladies, to push yourself to the best that you can be.

Independence
Y’all know she is one independent woman who can do what she wants, whenever she wants. This is not because she is Beyonce, but because she has grown to be intelligent about her actions. When she walks, she struts. When she talks, she moves. Beyonce knows how to carry herself because of her morals and good family values. Girls need to know that they can be independent too, especially in college. Ladies, were going to be in the real world soon and let’s face it, we can’t rely on our parents forever.

One classy lady
She is not a celebrity that his flashing her hoo-ha on the tabloids or raging on the weekends. Beyonce is recording a new song, hanging out with her family (including Blue Ivy!), or partnering with nonprofit organizations. In our college lives, we are going to do stupid things like wearing our biddie outfits to go out and dance on tables. We have to break out of this norm (which is scary to think about) and be classy young ladies. Beyonce respects herself which has ultimately led to her success. Of course there are going to be times when we going to be da-da-divas, but we have to keep Beyonce in mind on the dance floor.

Beyonce is the Queen B, the Diva and the role model to girls everywhere. We can look to her for confidence, talent and sexy twerkin’. The girls of our generation need a woman who is independent and does not only care about fame and fortune. Ladies, we all have an inner Beyonce inside of us whether you’re a fashionista, sassy dancer or an independent woman; we all can develop a strong and determined confidence.

‘Cause who run the world? Girls.
