Like all of you, I was equally excited when Starbucks released their fall menu, cough cough the pumpkin spice latte, early. As we have seen repeatedly during this crazy year, it’s the little things that count to uplift us. With that being said, most of the fall activity favorites have been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic. Not to fear, though, there are still things you and your friends can do to get into the autumn spirit! Firstly, apple picking the perfect fall activity that also follows social distancing guidelines. For myself, I love apple picking and just walking around because the weather is so beautiful. Plus, you’re getting fresh produce right from the source, and apple picking to me seems much more enjoyable than going to the grocery store. Before making the trip out, though, make sure to bring your mask! Okay, if you are not a cook by any means, like me, scroll down to the next activity. If you enjoy baking, cooking, or want to learn, then this activity is for you. There are so many wonderful recipes that are perfect with fall, especially anything pumpkin. From caramel apples to pumpkin rolls, one of the best things about fall is the festive foods. Have no idea where to start? Whenever I think of fall, my brain automatically goes to Halloween, cliché I know. While it’s still a bit early, there is no reason why pumpkin carving cannot be an acceptable activity. perfectly into social distancing guidelines. If you are not ready to embrace spooky season quite yet, that’s okay! Carve something that represents fall onto your pumpkin. No matter which of these your decide to do, or not do, it’s important to take some time for yourself this season and find the positives around you. In a time that’s filled with negative news and sorrow, it truly is the little things that can make a difference in your day.
