Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. The new hottest couple. But really who are they? Yes, he plays football and yes, she’s a singer, but this crossover between the NFL and Taylor Swift is something no one saw coming.
Who is Travis Kelce?
Born in 1989, same as Taylor Swift I might add, Kelce is from a small town in northern Ohio where he grew up playing a myriad of sports including football, basketball, and baseball. On the high school football field, he was the quarterback playing alongside his brother, Jason Kelce, and together both brothers ended up playing for the University of Cincinnati, and eventually for the NFL.
In college, Travis Kelce ended up transitioning over to playing tight end and during his senior year, he ended up winning the College Football Performance Awards Tight End of the Year for 2012. After college, Kelce went on to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. During his years with the Chiefs Kelce quickly became one of the most talented tight ends in history, and last year he was the fifth tight-end in NFL history to achieve 10,000 receiving yards in his career.
The most impressive part is he did it in seven seasons. Kelce has also won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs, one in 2019 and one last year in 2022. Last year’s win made headlines around the world as the match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles was also a game between brothers. Jason Kelce plays on the Eagles, meaning this Super Bowl game made headlines around the world as viewers tuned in to watch two brothers play for the championship.
All about Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is probably one of the most recognized names in pop culture. Swift grew up in a small suburban town in Eastern Pennsylvania where she lived with her parents and younger brother, Austin. She signed with Big Machine Records in 2005 and released her first album “Taylor Swift” in 2006. She then went on to release five more studio albums with Big Machine Records over the next 13 years and regularly achieved firsts within the music industry as a teenage girl.
In 2009 she won a variety of awards including her music video “You Belong with Me” being named Best Female Video at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, and she won five American Music Awards. Billboard named her 2009 Artist of the Year, and she was the youngest artist to ever win Album of the Year at the Grammy’s which she won alongside three other Grammy awards. Taylor Swift continues her career over the next 15 years constantly setting new records within the music industry while making a name for herself as a self-sufficient woman who doesn’t need help making her way through life.

These two are obviously very independent and successful people within the industry so seeing them together was a shock for people across the country. The first piece of gossip was that Kelce wrote his phone number on a friendship bracelet at the Eras Tour in Kansas City in early June, followed by rumors that they started to secretly hang out together this summer when all of a sudden Swift showed up at two Chiefs games back to back in late September. This blossoming new relationship is just starting, and where it will go is unknown to all.
