You might not have an invite to the next big fashion week, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat campus like your own personal runway. Get ready to defrost your closet and break out your warm weather clothes with this spring fashion forecast!

Colors

Wearing clothing styles that you feel good in and that accentuate your favorite features is always important, but the colors that you wear are equally essential to putting together a good outfit. Besides colors that are trending this spring, using a free service like colorwise.me can help you find the palette that looks best on you! Knowing your colors is great when looking for pieces that will look flattering on you no matter what is trending.

Textures and Styles

Metallics might have been tacky in the 2010s, but they’re making a comeback on fashion week runways all over the world. If you’re not into sporting a pair of silver pants or a gold button-up, don’t stress! A sparkly bag or statement earrings are an easy way to elevate your look while incorporating eye-catching details to any outfit.

With balletcore styles on the rise, pastel pinks and tulle are also in. You don’t have to break out old leotards from your days of beginner dance classes to keep up with this trend, though – simple ballet flats, leg warmers or solid-color bodysuits are ways to incorporate more subtle nods to this trend in your everyday attire. Spring is also the perfect time to experiment with light layering, so try throwing on a knit sweater or wrap top over your favorite tank next time you go out!

Maxi skirts have been popular for the last few months, but their length makes them a great piece for transitional weather. We’ve seen an influx of silk and satin skirts on celebrities and influencers, but if you’re looking for something different, try experimenting with different fabrics! Cotton maxi skirts, like this one from Natural Life, can add movement and texture to any outfit. If it’s a little chillier out, pair them with tights or leggings underneath for some warmth.

If you’re more comfortable in pants, wide-leg trousers are a great alternative to a flowy skirt! In a bright and bold color, they can make a fun statement in any outfit. Dress them up with a matching blazer, sophisticated heels and chunky earrings, or pair them with your favorite graphic t-shirt and sneakers for a more casual, everyday look.

Makeup

Makeup is never an outfit essential, but it can be a great way to add an extra something special to your look. Don’t be afraid to try a new eyeliner style, eyeshadow look or lip color! In 2023, makeup is more fun and experimental than ever, and spring is the perfect opportunity to add color to your routine.

Spring is all about new beginnings and personal growth, so challenge yourself to experiment with your personal style this season!
