Women Icons Who Changed the World of Fashion

Throughout the world, women have reinvented the fashion industry. These women have defined the word “fashion” and have taken the fashion community by storm. However, many of these fashion icons have fallen victim to being forgotten, but in this article, I hope to shed some well-deserved light on these stars. I present to you, women icons who changed the world of fashion.

 

Marlene Dietrich

Marlene Dietrich is a German born actress that was known for frequently changing her style on and off the screen. In the 1930’s, Marlene was the first women ever photographed wearing a full tuxedo. She embraced a more androgynous side of fashion and revolutionized the way women dressed.

“Babe” Paely

Barbra Paely is an American born fashion icon who was the notorious for mixing high and low fashion. Barbra or “Babe” was named to International Best Dressed Hall of Fame in 1958 and was known for tying her scarf to her handbags which later became a major fashion trend around the world.

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn is a British is actress, dancer, modal and humanitarian that changed the world of fashion with her iconic “Little Black Dress”. Best known for her role in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Audrey’s style is the epitome of grace and elegance with an attitude to match.

 

Jackie Kennedy

Jackie Kennedy is the women that changed the face of fashion while her husband was in office. Known for her signature big sunglasses, peacoats, pillbox hats and elegant scarves that she worn over her head, Jackie is a woman who inspired women all over the United States.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is an American actress, singer and model that redefined the world of fashion. Most famously known for her red lipstick and flowy dresses, Marylin was known for her sexy and sultry looks that amazed audiences all around the world.

 

Princess Diana

Princess Diana is England icon that changed the way that people saw royalty and put British fashion on the map. Her icon styles were daring for a member of the royal court but that never stopped Diana. She is best known for always wearing pearls, her off-the-shoulder gowns and her amazing fluffy white wedding dress that took the bridal world by storm.
