Sundays are known to be the laziest day ever. Just relaxing at home, catching up on your newest Netflix show and doing absolutely nothing but that. Of course this seems like the ideal day, but once it comes to the upcoming week, you may wish you would have gotten a few things done on your lazy day off. Although you may not want to be productive, there are still some ways to get things done while still  relaxing for most of your day.

If you are anything like me, you probably start off your day just lounging around at home in bed trying to pick out a show. There are so many easy tasks that could be done in a short few minutes while your show is loading. Take this time to gather your laundry and get a load started. Start with your clothes so you have all your clothes clean and ready to go for the new week ahead. While the load is being washed you can fit in a show or two before you have to switch the load to the dryer and put in a new one. I’d suggest going onto your sheets next so you have soft clean sheets for the next week and it forces you to get out of your bed for a while.

Once you are out of bed and have no blankets or sheets to curl up under, you are forced to move to a different place. Around this time I usually get hungry or at least am ready for my morning coffee. This is the perfect opportunity to be productive again. While in your kitchen, make a grocery list since you can see what items you are lacking for the week ahead. That way you can go get those items later in the week, or if you are feeling really productive at that point, just go grab them then!

However, most people will want to stay home during their Sundays, which is just fine because I do too. By now, you may still feel a little productive and want to knock out a few more things while you are in that groove. There are plenty of little things you could do for yourself to prep for the week ahead. You could make a list of things you need to do this week or write in a planner to make sure you know what the upcoming week holds. Another thing I like to do is catch up on emails and make sure I’m not missing anything and can start with a clean slate for the week. The best part is that all these things can be done while still watching a show or just chilling out on your couch.

With all these little tasks complete, it will only take you a few minutes to fold your laundry and remake your bed. While folding your clothes you could take this time to plan out some outfits for the week so you aren’t so rushed in the morning. Look ahead at the weather to make sure the outfit will work for that day and then you are set for the week on outfits.

After a while of doing a few productive tasks, it is okay to take the rest of the day to relax and to nothing else. Crawl into your fresh clean bed and watch a movie. Take that time to just relax and rest for the week ahead. You can also utilize this time to do a few self care things like a face mask or taking a shower/bath to start off Monday right. Relaxing on a lazy Sunday is essential for a great week ahead, although adding in a few productive tasks will make your week ever better!
