Spend the night & don’t look like a mess

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

So it’s that first night that you are spending the night at your guys’ house. You start to worry about the night’s events and then the morning after. Morning breath, hair askew, your mismatched pj’s…yikes! But don’t fret with these do’s and don’ts and you won’t have anything to worry about when spending the night with your guy. These tips are sensible and not at all dramatic; I won’t have you setting your alarm at 6:30 am to get glammed up, that’s just crazy.

Do: Bring cute overnight clothes! It is so so so important to bring clothes that are appealing for you and your guy. You don’t have to go glam and lingerie it up, check out Victoria Secret for their oversized tee which is comfortable and shows just enough skin. Your shirt with Spongebob isn’t going to cut it hun!

Don’t: Forget a toothbrush! I can’t stress the importance of this, no one likes morning breath. Brush your teeth and use mouthwash before you go to sleep and as soon as you wake up!

Do: A preplanned hairstyle! We all know how our hair works and what it looks like in the morning so get your hair nice and pretty the night before. If you leave it down be prepared to have a ponytail holder so that you can put it up in the morning if it looks crazy. A braid might be preferable so that when you take it down it will be wavy or you can keep it.

Don’t: Stress! Above all if this guy likes you he’ll accept you for how you look night before and the next day. If he doesn’t then he really isn’t the guy for you. You’re going to spend time with the person you care and or love about. Just be comfortable!

Do: Bring an extra pair of clothes, toiletries, etc. I meanhello this isn’t your house and this goes without saying unless you plan on leaving before the rooster crows.

Don’t: Apply too much makeup! For those who are obsessed with the way they look when spending the night simply apply some makeup on the night before. Keep in mind not to apply too much as you can wake up with your face looking back at you…on the pillow. That’s just embarrassing!

There you have it the do’s and do not’s of how to spend the night and not look like a total mess! All in the all the guy you’re with shouldn’t care about how you look because you’re beautiful morning, noon, and night!!
