We’ve finally passed one of the most stressful periods of the semester; midterms! I don’t know about you guys, but this is the period of the semester I usually struggle to stay motivated the most. I’m ready to be done and ready for winter break! However, we have to keep pushing a little longer! Here are some tips I’ve been using to keep my motivation going through the rest of the semester.
- Take time for yourself!
-
This time of the year usually calls for the most studying and stress, so make sure you are taking time out of your week to take care of yourself! Whether that means doing a face mask, ordering from your favorite restaurant, or taking a well-deserved nap, make sure you’re making time for you!
- Stay organized.
-
It’s easy to become disorganized and disheveled during this time of the year, so make sure you’re keeping your organization methods the same! I usually make sure to continue using my planner, writing out my assignments, and keeping my room clean. This helps my stress levels stay down.
- Don’t procrastinate.
-
This is something everyone struggles with (but especially me). Procrastination is a huge stressor for everyone! Make sure you are leaving yourself enough time to get your assignments done without overwhelming yourself!
- Surround yourself with people who support you!
-
My friends and family are the main people who motivate me to keep pushing! Having a support network is super important to have during times like these!
- Set goals and celebrate when you achieve them!
-
Setting goals is a great way to stay motivated! If you have a test coming up that you want to get an A on, set that goal and figure out ways you’re going to achieve that. When you accomplish your goals, make sure to celebrate! Whether that means going out to get ice cream or taking a well-deserved break!
We all get stressed during these times, but if you follow these tips and tricks, you’ll be able to be successful in the 2nd half of this semester! Finish strong, Redbirds!
