Since environmental problems and well-being have been drawing increasing attention, veganism has been considered a significant way to live.

Today, I would like to introduce three valuable and easy ways to live with the thought of being vegan.

1. Plant-based meat

As many of you may know, meat can be replaced by the plant soy. Although it seems to be not delicious and challenging to eat, you can get the product in your daily life. I recommend plant-based meat, “大豆のお肉 レトルトタイプ” by Morukome. You can get it in Costco. Compared to regular pork, the calories and fats are 50% off. You can further intake dietary fiber by it. There are a lot of recipes, so why don’t you try cooking??

2. Vegan restaurants

Some might say that they want to try going to vegan restaurants. In Kichijoji, they have some great vegan restaurants. I would like to introduce one restaurant. “Yacore Cafe” is a restaurant located in Kichijoji and serves vegan and gluten-free meals. For example, you can have a vegan cheese hamburger there. There are several kinds of vegan hamburgers. Please try having them!

3. Vegan recipes

I think cooking by yourself is one of the most challenging but enjoyable things for university students. It tends to be boring and difficult to intake enough nutrition. Therefore, I would like to introduce some helpful websites in both Japanese and English.

-Organic Recipes (in Japanese) https://recipe.organic-press.com/tag/vegan/

You might find good quality and pretty-looking meals!

-Jamie Oliver https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/category/special-diets/vegan/

You should be able to cook high-quality vegan food with plenty of vegetables.
