10 Ways First-Years Are Just Like Nemo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at HWS chapter.

We’ve all been there, the freshmen on campus. All of us have felt those same pressures, anxieties, triumphs, and failures. From conquering your first paper, to ordering your first late night pizza, Nemo gets it, too!

1. Leading up to orientation in August, you can hardly contain your excitement.

2. Before saying goodbye to your parents, you convince them you’ll use everything they’ve ever taught you.

3. But when first semester grades come out, they begin to lecture you.

4. You may start to feel tendencies to rebel.

5. And while you may stray off course for awhile, somewhere in there you’ll discover your real friends and support system.

6. Not to worry, even though you many not know it, your parents are still pulling for you at home too.

7. And sure, you’ve done the inevitable late night pizza, skipped class, messy room thing.

8.) But halfway through, you really begin to clean up your act.

9. Not only that, but with a little more determination you manage to pass all your finals this time.

10. And as you’re launched into the new, uncharted waters that sophomore year brings, you are equipped with a new level of confidence.
