Bananas are considered a super fruit because they can help you with muscle cramps before and after workouts. They’re rich in soluble dietary fibers and are a natural detoxifying agent for digestion. In other words, it’s delicious for your body and your soul!

The history of bananas still remains a mystery regarding its arrival in America, but its weird shape, color, and how quickly it could turn brown caught the attention of the public. This awed ship captains who sailed the seas in the late 1800s. It wasn’t until later, by the 1930s, when bananas were incorporated in desserts such as banana pudding, banana custard, and banana bread! Historians believe that banana bread was a byproduct of the Great Depression because housewives refused to throw away overripe bananas. The idea that by adding flour, a cheap ingredient, and overripe bananas together is how banana bread made its way into the food world.

I’m a cheap college student, but I’m always looking for ways to feed my other cheap friends a delicious dessert. Banana bread has always been my go-to. Although I’m not the best baker, baking banana bread has boosted my confidence level by 100%. Here’s how to make one large loaf of banana bread:

  1. Gather your ingredients of: ½ cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 beaten eggs, 3 very ripe crushed bananas, 1 ½ cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of vanilla (optional).

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  3. Mix butter and sugar together. Then, add the beaten eggs and crushed bananas.

  4. Mix well until batter is soft.

  5. Sift in the flour, baking soda and salt. Then add vanilla.

  6. Pour into greased and floured pan and bake for 55-minutes.

Once the bell rings, take it out of the oven right away in order for it to cool. In my opinion, cream cheese frosting goes extremely well on top of warm banana bread. If you made a little bit too much for your friends, pop it in the fridge. This will keep it safe to eat for the next five days.

Well, there you have it! Try it for yourself—it’s amazing!
