Happy Charter Day Her Campus Howard University!

On September 5, 2017, the astonishing ladies of Her Campus at Howard University published the organization’s first article, making our purpose of existing present and impactful on Howard’s campus. Today, we celebrate two years of hard work and the expansion of our lovely organization.

Since Her Campus ever so gracefully made its presence known on Howard University’s campus, we have made it our mission to lead with the goal of “Empowering women. All women. ” We have accepted the responsibility of serving the community, along with hosting impactful events and campaigns with our many partners. We also pride ourselves on producing informative, inspiring and exciting content for the #1 global online magazine for college women.

Our purpose is to connect women on Howard’s campus and create bonds that extend far beyond being just classmates. We aim to create a space for all women to feel uplifted and inspired by one another and a community where women feel as though their world views, perspectives and ideas matter. That is why we are happy to announce that Her Campus has recently been recognized as an official organization on Howard University’s campus.

Thank you all for your constant love and support, we truly appreciate it. If you think you’ve seen it all, this is only the beginning!

Make sure to catch up with the ladies of Her Campus at this year’s org fair on September 19, 2019 to learn more information on how you can join!

Deni Dedmon is a sophomore speech-language pathology major from Albany, GA. Her first love was writing but her second love was helping others, which led to her choosing a career in speech pathology. When it comes to her writing, she loves to write about everything, from entertainment (she’s an avid Kehlani fan) to book reviews (she’s been reading since the age of one) to controversial topics and current events (ya know, your average angry black girl things). Being the oldest of five girls, she is also passionate about young black girls, their self-esteem, and making sure that they’re proud of being who they are. At the age of seventeen, she became a contributor for MTV Founders and a spring writer for Affinity Magazine.
