What to do During a Winter Weekend in Worcester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

It’s no secret that the Winter creates a kind of lull in our school year. The weather’s crappy, motivation is low, and the sun sets at 5pm. Before things start warming up again, there are so many things to do during a winter weekend in Worcester.

1. Go for Brunch / Bottomless mimosas

Last weekend, my friends all woke up before 12pm on a Saturday (impressive) and went to Lock 50 for brunch. The food there was amazing and bottomless mimosas were a definitely a perk (and bang for your buck). Tavern in the Square or the Mercantile are also great options!

2. Shopping and Lunch at Blackstone

Equipped with a Nordstrom Rack, Sephora, Ulta, and Target, Blackstone is a super fun place to go when you’re bored on the weekend. Only 10 minutes from campus, you could grab lunch at Panera or Qdoba with friends and shop around.

3. try a new coffee spot

We all have our favorites, whether it’s Starbucks, Dunkin, Inhouse, or Acoustic Java, but this time of year is perfect for trying out new drinks or spots that you haven’t before. You could use this time to catch up with work or just hang with friends.

4. GET CREATIVE!

Go on a walk/hike (if it’s a particularly nice day), try a new workout class, organize a fun drinking game with friends, or just chill and watch TV in your pajamas. Spending weekends with friends have created my most treasured memories of college. So, do whatever you can to be together, no matter the weather.
