Because Holy Cross’ fall break is about 3-5 days too long (in my opinion), I got quite bored and decided to impulsively get bangs– a hairstyle I have not had in probably around 15 years. I would say I was influenced mostly by Daisy Jones from watching Daisy Jones and The Six last spring, partially by Taylor Swift and her iconic bangs, and by Jennifer Aniston herself.

They’re a lot easier to deal with and take care of than I thought. I just have to clip them back when I’m working out and wash them more often than I do the rest of my hair, but that’s pretty much it. I’ve been told they fit my face shape perfectly, and love the way they look. To ease into having bangs I asked for wispier, lower-commitment ones which I think was a good decision. However now that I did this, I’m thinking that next time I get a haircut I’ll go for more hardcore ones. After taking the first step I am excited to try a bunch of new hairstyles and cuts in the next few years.

Overall, I’m so happy I decided to switch things up this year. Hair grows back and life is short so if you’re thinking about making a change to your appearance at some point soon, I would 100% encourage you to go for it! If you never try you’ll never know.
