As the weather cools off while we get deeper into the fall season, it’s important to keep your dorm a comfortable and calming place to live in. Although living in a dorm room is far from ideal, there are still ways to make it your own space and transform it into a warm oasis this Autumn. Here are a few ways to fall in love even more with your room in college…

  1. Fuzzy blankets

While an obvious choice, there is nothing quite as comforting and snuggly as a nice, soft fuzzy blanket. Bring an old favorite from home or treat yourself to the new one you’ve been eying in the isles of Target and settle down in bed to watch a cozy fall movie.

  1. Candles or Reed Diffuser

Spice up your room with a comfy and seasonal scent like pumpkin spice, vanilla, or spiced cider to bring even more fall cheer into the dorm. If your school allows it, get a candle (the candlelight also makes for a great autumn ambiance), but if not consider a reed diffuser to use instead.

  1. Mini Pumpkin

There is nothing more fall than pumpkins, so why not bring a small one to college with you? Get a mini pumpkin to add to your desk or maybe even a few for your window sill.

  1. Warm Lights/Fairy Lights

Put up or string some lights that have a warm tint to them to make your dorm room extra cozy as the days get shorter. It’s really amazing what difference adding some extra light to your life can do, especially in fall and winter, by both boosting mood and productivity, while also giving a nice aesthetic.

Hopefully, some of these ideas can help you add some cozy decorations and items to your dorm this season or give you some autumn-themed inspiration!
