The Autumn season is full of fun activities to bring people together and the perfect opportunity to take a weekend, October break, or Thanksgiving break to spend some quality time with family and get together after being apart for a few weeks. Personally, I believe that nothing can top the amazing and festive adventures and activities that come with the Fall months, and living in New Hampshire, I have no shortage of access to these cliche moments and experiences. This October break has been the perfect opportunity for me to spend so much time having fun with my family, and here are my three favorite activities I’ve done with them this fall.

1. Corn Maze

Starting with a classic, my mom, two of my (favorite) cousins, and I went to Lee, NH where we got lost in a huge corn maze at Coppal House Farm. The maze was in the shape of a bat and night sky, and there were trivia questions within the pathways that helped you find your way out, if you knew the right answer.

2. Apple Cider Doughnuts

For me, Autumn would be incomplete without tasting some of these delicious doughnuts topped with cinnamon sugar. This year, my mom and I drove about an hour north to a farmstand and pick-your-own apple orchard where we got a small bag full of mini apple cider doughnuts. We then ate them right outside the store, finishing the entire bag!

3. Hiking and Driving Through Foliage

Lastly, my mom and I took a two hour trip up into the middle of New Hampshire to go see the Flume Gorge. The drive itself was gorgeous with many trees already turning shades of red, yellow, and orange. To get to the gorge itself, we hiked about a mile of trails through the woods until we reached the series of rock walls and waterfalls in the middle of the wilderness. It was an amazing way to reconnect with nature this break and a nice way to unplug and spend special time with my mom.

Regardless of what activities you do this season, any time you are able to spend with your family is sure to create wonderful fall-time memories and maybe even begin a new tradition going forward.
