This past weekend, the Holy Cross Dance Ensemble displayed their talents in a sold-out show in the Luth Concert Hall.
After a long rainy Saturday of tailgates and football, families dried off and cozied up in the Prior as early as 6:00 p.m. to wait to secure their spot in line. By 6:30, the queue wound around the entire Beehive. As doors opened, parents, grandparents, and younger siblings elbowed their way through, bouquets in hand, to get a coveted front-row seat.
The showcase featured ten numbers across various styles of dance, including ballet, hip-hop, modern, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, Irish dance, and musical. Most notable was the finale, which featured the entire ensemble in “Barbie!” a spirited, pink-filled number that was definitely “Kenough” for the audience, who gave a standing ovation.
“It was a really great experience to get out there and be able to show all our families what we’ve been working on for the past month,” remarked freshman lyrical dancer Anna Hagan. “We have more shows coming up this year, so I’m really excited to be a part of those as well”.
Stay tuned for the release of information about upcoming performances and come see for yourself the talent of the Dance Ensemble in all its glory!
