When anyone tours Holy Cross, a fact that sticks out about Holy Cross is that a lot of students find their true love on The Hill (the number is close to 60%!!!!!!!). So obviously, Holy Cross is the perfect place to find and fall in luuuvvv. Ahh true love! That means couples all over Holy Cross are walking hand in hand to Kimball, spending countless hours distracting each other on library dates in Dinand, and grabbing coffees from Cool Beans. We LOVE couples here at Her Campus Holy Cross and this week’s Campus Couple is one of our favorites! We’re profiling our very own HCHC writer and social media extraordinaire Alicia Perry ’17 and her boyfriend Patrick Rielly ’17!

HC: How long have you been together?
Patrick: 5 months.
Alicia: Just about 5 months. Our anniversary is May 1st!
HC: How/where did you meet?
Patrick: We met in the Wheeler common room. I originally wasn’t going to go into the common room but my best friend was studying in there so I decided to check it out. Alicia and him were studying Astronomy and that’s when I first met her.
Alicia: We met in the Wheeler social space. I was studying Astronomy with one of his friends and he came in and said hi to us. He was wearing this cute navy peacoat, I remember.
HC: First impression
Patrick: Very bubbly, very kind.
Alicia: Very nice, smiley, and so easy to talk to.
HC: What is your favorite memory with each other?
Patrick: Eating dinner on the terrace in Pittsburgh with Alicia and my family.
Alicia: Seeing Patrick for the first time in two months at the airport when I went to visit him in Pittsburgh this summer. I flew alone and was so excited to see him, it was so special! Not to mention, he had a nice present for me when I got there. Jewelry, my favorite!
HC: Any pet peeves of each other?
Patrick: No, not at all.
Alicia: None! I’m so lucky. ☺
HC: What’s your favorite thing to do together?
Patrick: I love to take her to new places. Showing her around Pittsburgh for the first time together this summer was such a highlight and it was very exciting to do that with her.
Alicia: I also love to go to new places with him but my favorite thing is when we just hang out and watch movies together. Patrick is obsessed with movies.
HC: Where is the best place on campus to meet up?
Patrick: My room.
Alicia: Kimball. The best part of my day is catching up with Patrick about our day over dinner.
HC: What was your first date?
Patrick: We went to Volturno on Shrewsbury Street. Then we waited in the cold for the cab for a very long time.
Alicia: We kept each other warm! We had just started dating and Patrick had requested we go there, it was a great dinner. We both got pizza which I remember was so yummy.
HC: 3 words to describe each other:
Patrick: She’s supportive, caring, and outgoing (Originally he said “gregarious” however Alicia requested he tone down the “fancy words”).
Alicia: Patrick is selfless, kindhearted, and genuine.
HC: What is your ideal date?
Patrick: I would love to walk the streets of Paris at night with Leesh by my side.
Alicia: On the Cape! Go out to eat on the water then walk on the beach as the sun sets over the ocean. That would be so perfect.
HC: What do you admire in each other?
Patrick: The way she lights up a room when she walks in. She exudes an aura of happiness at all times. She’s very loving, very giving and is always thinking about other people before herself.
Alicia: I admire the way in which Patrick leaves such a lasting, positive impression on everyone he meets. His motivation, work ethic, and his ability to somehow be involved in everything possible is inspiring, and somehow he is able to still make time for me. But most of all, I admire the beautiful person he truly is. Patrick embodies everything good in the world.
HC: Who studies more?
Patrick: (Laughs and looks at Alicia) It’s close.
Alicia: (Giggling) Could you guess? He studies a lot more than me.
HC: Who talks more?
Patrick: Leesh.
Alicia: Me! Patrick is very talkative with me, but he sometimes can be shy with others. It’s so cute.
HC: Do you have any nicknames for each other?
Patrick: Leesh
Alicia: I tried to make Patty a thing but it hasn’t really caught on…yet!
HC: Do you guys have a song?
Patrick: “You and I” by One Direction. Now, don’t make fun of me but Alicia got me into One Direction this past summer and they are pretty decent, I will admit. Some of their new stuff is good.

HC: Anything else you want people to know about you?
Patrick: We are very appreciative of this opportunity
Alicia: Patrick has a beautiful singing voice. He also has a habit of speaking in a British accent.
