Emery Schulz

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hollins chapter.

This week’s Campus Cutie is Her Campus Hollins’ own Emery Schulz! Here are a few fun facts about the lovely Emery (above center).

  • She is a member of the Class of 2016.
  • She is an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing.
  • She grew up in La Cresenta, California.
  • Her favorite thing about Hollins is the atmosphere of “incredibleness.”
  • If you want to go out to dinner with Emery, don’t bet on seafood — she doesn’t like fish!
  • Emery is a go-get-’em girl. When asked about her accomplishments, she had this to say: “[I am most proud of] either my leadership experience of my writing. Though I’m really proud of my acceptance at Hollins and my Brown Belt, as well. Hollins because this was the only school I applied to and I wanted so much to get in. Brown Belt because I am not an athletic person at all and it took a LOT of hard work to get there. Writing…I’ve completed a few novels (it always sounds like bragging, no matter how I phrase it…sigh) andthe one I’m most proud of, I worked on for six months non-stop and it wound up being 845 pages. Finally, teaching, not so much for myself, but for my students. I was proud of them and proud of myself for being able to succeed in something I never dreamed I could do — let alone well. I also led a Cub Scout Den, to similar themes.”
  • She writes the Campus Celebrity column for Her Campus Hollins.
I grew up in New Hampshire writing frequently and reading always. After high school, I began my English/Creative Writing degree at Hollins University in Virginia. My aspirations include becoming a young adult librarian and writing for the same audience.
