Springtime in Kaisaniemi Botanical Garden

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Helsinki chapter.

Living in a city is wonderful – especially when you can also enjoy the beauty of the nature right in the middle of it. Kaisaniemi Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful places in Helsinki, particularly in Spring when all the plants suddenly wake up from their winter dormancy. Here are some pictures from a visit on a sunny day in May – make sure to pay your own visit, as you can witness all this beauty completely free of charge!

There is a magnolia tree soon in full bloom, and you can just imagine how lovely its scent is.

For some leaves, the best is yet to come.

Observing the plant names is half of the fun; this “Northern Gold” really did shine like gold in the sun.

There is even a cute little cafe in the middle of all the flowers. Why aren’t you already there?!
